The gym leader here is Brock, the Rock type trainer. He uses some strong Rock Type Pokemon, and knows a few dangerous attacks. Watch out, as Rock Types are notoriously hard to beat, as they are very resistant to most attacks. Water type attacks are found to be quite effective though.

You must defeat Brock to advance onto Route 3.

Are Heroes head inside and see a rock field.
CaptainScooter: Alright who wants to battle the gym leader first?
Steven: I will.
CaptainScooter: Okay. Good Luck.
Steven: Thanks.
Steven heads toward the field and then a door opens and a boy steps out with a man.
Steven: Hey are you the gym leader?
Boy: Yes I am this is my father Flint. My name is Brock.
Steven: Well I challenge you!
Brock: I accept.
Flint: The Battle between Steven from Viradian City against Brock the Pewter City gym leader will now commance. This is a 2-2 battle the challenger may call back a pokemon to change it but not the gym leader. Now let the Battle BEGIN!
Brock: Go Geodude!
The ball releases Geodude.
Geodude: Geodude.
Steven: Very well then I choose you Beedrill!
The ball releases Beedrill.
Beedrill: Bee.
CaptainScooter: Steven! You aren't going to use Weepinbell?!
Steven: I am saving him for last now GO BEEDRILL USE POISON JAB
Beedrill: BEEDRI!
Beedrill uses the attack and Geodude takes a hit.
Geodude: Geodude!
Brock: Geodude use Jab and keep doing it.
Geodude: GEODUDE!
Steven: Beedrill dodge them.
Geodue keeps trying to hit Beedrill but doesn't lay a punch on the pokemon.
Geodude: Geo!
Brock: HUH?!
Steven: Now Beedrill use...
Brock: Geodude attach yourself to Beedrill!
Geodude: GEO!
Geodue claspes on Beedrill while Beedrill trys to shake Geodude off.
Steven: AH BEEDRILL!
Brock: Now use explosion!
Geodude: GEO!
Soon there is a big explosion in the gym and we soon see both pokemon down and fainted.
Flint: Neither side is able to continue IT IS A TIE! Who ever wins the next battle will either get the Boulder Badge or not. Choose pokemon.
Geodude returns to the ball.
Brock: Good job Geodude take it easy now.
Beedrill goes back to the ball.
Steven: Take a rest Beedrill you deserve it. HMPH well now it is time to call out WEEPINBELL GO!
Steven tosses a ball and Weepinbell is relesed
Weepinbell: Weep.
Brock: Time to call my old friend ONIX!
Onix come out of its ball.
Onix: ROAR!
Steven: WHOAH!
Flint: Let the battle BEGIN!
Brock: Onix use Double-Edge!
Onix: ROAR!
Onix heads towards Weepinbell at fast pace.
Steven: Quick Weepinbell use vine whip to dodge!
Weepinbell: Weepin!
Weepinbell uses vine whip on a rock and dodges in the knick of time.
Steven: Now Weepinbell use Razorleaf!
Weepinbell: Weepin!
Wepinbell uses Razor leaf and Onix gets a major hit!
Onix: ROAR!
Brock: Onix use rock throw!
Onix: ROAR!
Onix throws a rock at Weepinbell.
Steven: WEEPINBELL!
Weepinbell: Weepin-mmmm WEEPIN!
Soon something comes from the top of Weepinbell and then it releases a powerful solarbeam that hits the rock and Onix.
Brock: ONIX NO!
Onix: ROAR!
Onix faints.
Flint: Onix is unable to continue Steven is the winner of the battle and wins the Boulder Badge!
Steven : YAY WE DID IT WEEPINBELL
Runs to the field and hugs Weepinbell.
Weepinbell: Weepin weep.
CaptainScooter: He did it.
Brock calls Onix back.
Brock: Good Job Onix. Thank You. Well Steven it looks like you win the Boulder Badge here.
Steven: Thank you. ALRIGHT I GOT A BOULDER BADGE!
Weepinbell: Weepin.
CaptainScooter comes onto the field.
CaptainScooter: Now it is my turn to battle you.
Brock: Sorry but after the battle I don't think I can do it how about you guys stay for dinner and tomorrow we can battle. `Kay!
CaptainScooter: Fine with me.
Steven: Me too.
Brock: Good come on lets have dinner.
CaptainScooter and Steven: YEAH!

The next day.
Brock: Well I see that you are rested up.
CaptainScooter: Yeah so let's do this.
Flint: The match between CaptainScooter of Pallet Town against Brock of the Pewter City gym I trust you all know the rules so let the battle BEGIN!
CaptainScooter: I choose you CHARMANDER!
Charmander is released from the ball.
Flint, Brock, and Steven: HUH?!
Steven: CaptainScooter don't you know that fire types are weak against rock and ground types.
CaptainScooter: Yeah but I don't care I am going to use him.
Brock: Oh well, GO GEODUDE!
Geodude is released from the ball.
Geodude: Geodude.
CaptainScooter: Charmander use Growl
Charmander: Charmander, CHAR!
Geodude: Geo.
Brock: UH- OH!
CaptainScooter: Now use Scratch.
Charmander: Char.
Soon Chamander unleashes a fury of scratch attacks.
Geodude: GEODUDE!
Brock: Geodude quick uses Rollout.
Geodude: Geo, GEODUDE!
Soon Geodude is rolling right towards Charmander.
CaptainScooter: Charmander use Ember.
Charmander: Charmander, CHAR!
The Ember attack hits Geodude but Geodude still is rolling towards Charmander.
CaptainScooter: Errrghhh what NOW huh wait that's IT. Quick Charmander use ember at the ground!
Charmander: Char?
Steven: What is he talking about?
Brock: What is he planing?
CaptainScooter: Just DO IT!
Charmander: Char! Char char. CHARMANDER!
And just like he ordered Charmander did and ember at the ground however Geodude was coming fast. Soon something happens to the ground where the Ember is attacking. It starts to boil.
CaptainScooter: Good now jump over that ground so you can stop him.
Charmander: Char.
Charmander runs to the hot ground but jumps over it and stands ready to catch Geodude.
Brock: What is he doing!?
Steven: Oh?
Soon the two pokemon colide and Charmander skid through the hot ground but soon ends up on the otherside with Geodude on the hot ground. The Geodude stops and soon goes back into normal mode but seeing as he is still on the hot ground he gets his butt burnned.
Geodude: GEO! GEO! GEO!
CaptainScooter: Perfect now use Ember one last time on Geodude, Charmander.
Charmander: CHARMANDER!
A direct hit and Geodude faints.
Flint: The winner of this battle is CaptainScooter!
CaptainScooter: YES!
Geodude returns to the ball.
Brock: Nice work Geodude. Take a breather. Well I will say that was a smart thinking CaptainScooter first heating the ground then positioning Charmander where he would catch Geodude and where Geodude would stay. Good Job but this nex pokemon will be harder.
Steven: Totally wicked.
Brock: Now ONIX COME OUT AND PLAY!
Onix is released from the ball
Onix: ROAR!
Charmander is called back to the ball.
CaptainScooter: Ivysaur GO!
Ivysaur is released from the ball.
Ivysaur: Ivysaur.
Flint: Let the Battle BEGIN!
Brock: Onix use Hardden!
Onix: ROAR!
CaptainScooter: WHAT!
Onix soon has a stream of light going over it
CaptainScooter: Woah.
Brock: Heh heh heh suprised well don't be I told you this pokemon was going to be harder. This is a move called Hardden this move means that any damage delt to him will not do anything or even a scratch unless it is very powerful. NOW ONIX SLAM ATTACK NOW!
Onix: ROAR!
CaptainScooter: Dodge it Ivysaur!
Too Late the slam hits Ivysaur.
Ivysaur: IVY!
CaptainScooter: Ivysaur get up and use Poison Powder!
Ivysaur: Ivy, iv, IVYSAUR!
Soon a powder comes out of Ivysaurs bulb and covers Onix.
Onix: *cough* *cough* RO-*cough*AR!
CaptainScooter: Now use Razorleaf!
Ivysaur: IVYSAUR!
The Razorleaf hits Onix but the leaves just fall to the ground.
Brock: I told you that won't work now ONIX TAIL WHIP ATTACK!
Onix: ROAR!
A direct hit Ivysaur fainted.
Flint: Ivysaur is unable to battle the victor is Brock. Since both teams are tied we will have a tie battle the one who wins this gets the Boulder Badge!
CaptainScooter: Oh-no my only pokemon that I can use. Is Charmander.
Steven: He's done for.
CaptainScooter: I guess I have no choice. CHARMANDER GO!
Charmander is realesed from its ball.
Charmander: Char.
CaptainScooter: Goodluck buddy.
Flint: BEGIN
Brock: Onix lets finish this with a simple Tackle.
Onix: ROAR!
Onix speeds towards Charmander.
CaptainScooter: What to do now. Wait mabye QUICK CHARMANDER EMBER AT YOUR TAIL!
Charmander: Char?
Brock: Huh?
Flint: What is he doing?
Steven: I wonder what's going to happen?
Even though not understanding Charmander uses ember at his tail and soon.
CaptainScooter: Now use a Fire Blast!
Brock: WHAT at his current level that is in... wait whats going on with Charmander!?
Soon Charmander muscles the strength and releases a GIGANTIC Fire BLast at Onix.
Onix: ROAR!
A direct hit Onix faints.
Flint: The winner of this battle is CaptainScooter meaning he gets the Boulder Badge.
CaptainScooter: ALRIGHT WE DID IT!
Charmander: Char!
Onix is called back to his ball.
Brock: Thank You old friend you did good. Well congratulations.
Extends hand.
CaptainScooter: Thanks you too.
Brock: Well here you go a Boulder Badge you've earned it.
CaptainScooter: Thanks. I JOST GOT THE BOULDER BADGE!
Charmander: Charmander.
Later that day.
CaptainScooter: Well thanks for the badges but we must be going.
Steven: Yeah were headed to the Kanto Championiship.
Brock: I wish you good luck.
Flint: Here take these.
Steven: What are these?
Flint: Heavy balls able to catch an Onix or any pokemon that is well heavy.
CaptainScooter and Steven: Thanks well BYE!
Flint and Brock: Bye
Brock: Bye guys goodluck at the Kanto Championship!
CaptainScooter and Steven: We will BYE!

As the gang stands outside the gym a civilian smiles and says:
civilian: Good luck, you're gonna need it.
Forox: (bitterly) thanks
They enter the gym.
Brock is standing on a stone pedestal
Brock: welcome to the gym. Are you here to challenge me?
Forox: yeah, and I'll be going first.
Brock: Alright then, lets go!
brock takes his place on the field and Forox takes him
Referee: This is a gym battle. The leader is Brock! The challenger is the Trainer Forox! Only the challenger may substitute in a battle. Lets begin!
Brock: Go Geodude!
brock throws a pokeball and calls his geodude out into the battle.
Forox: Go Pikachu!
Forox throws the Pokeball and he calls his pikachu into battle.
Referee: Begin!
