Gym #7 - Volcano Badge

[Harry Dark]

Blaine is a powerful laeader, he uses Fire-type Pokemon. He makes good use of Fire Blast, a powerful attack.

[Harry Dark]

Harry entered the gym, and winced at the flaming heat. It was worse that an oven.

Harry staggered his way over to Blaine, who he could recognise because of his dark glasses.

"You want a battle?" Harry managed to say.

Blaine nodded not affected by the heat. "Two on two battle for the Volcano Badge?"

Harry managed to nod.

Blaine waved his hand, and the heat died down a bit, but it was still boiling hot.

Harry made his way over the the challenger's side of the stadium, and grabbed Electrode's and Ekan's Pokeballs, and threw them into the arena.

"Go, Schock and Alternator!" Harry called, the two Pokemon appearing in a flash of light.

Baline threw out two Pokeballs as well, and an Arcanine and Rapidash appeared, facing Ekans and Electrode.

Harry opened the attacks.

"OK, Schock, use Flash! Alternator, Bite!" Harry called, a bright light appearing as Electrode used Flash. Ekans used it's momentary advantage when Blaine's Pokemon were blinded by it to strike in close and used Bite on Rapidash.

Blaine's Pokemon accustomed to the light and were ready to retaliate. "Rapidash, Agility! Arcanine, Howl!" Blaine called.

Rapidash sped up, and Arcanine let out a howl, it became even more aggressive and powerful.

Blaine's two Pokemon repeated this, getting better and better, and were causing major problems for Harry.

Harry grabbed his PokeDex to check what he could do, and a message popped up.
"Ekans is now able to use Haze."

Harry flipped through until he found the attack Haze.

Creates a black haze that eliminates all stat changes.

Harry grinned. "Perfect." He said.

"Alternator, Haze!" He called out.
Both Ekans and Electrode were badly hurt by Blaine's tanked up Pokemon.

Ekans concentrated for a moment, then it emitted a massive cloud of black smog out or it's mouth, slowing Rapidash down, and calming Arcanine.

Harry smiled. Now was his chance.

"Schock, use Flash! Alternator, Poison Sting!" He called.

Electrode's Flash cut a beam through the smog, and he concentrated it on Rapidash, blinding it completely.
Ekans then used Poison Sting on the helpless Rapidash, who couldn't see what was happening.
Rapidash collapsed from the force of the stings, fainted.

Electrode then turned on Arcanine, blinding it also.

Instead of standing there, Arcanine jumped up in the air, on Blaine's command, escaping the worst of Ekan's Poison Sting.

Harry smiled. "Schock! Use Thunder!"

Electrode sent out a massive electric bolt, it's power magnified by the fact that Arcanine was in the air as it hit.

Arcanine hit the floor, in a dead faint, just as the smog cleared.

Blaine withdrew Arcanine and walked over to Harry. He handed Harry the Volcano Badge.

"I must remember not to tell my Pokemon to jump when there is an electric type on the field." He said, and Harry grinned.

"You were the hardest gym leader so far." Harry said.

Blaine nodded. "Although Cassie is much stronger than me. You need to watch out." He said.

Harry smiled and shook Blaine's hand. "I'd better get training then!"

He left the gym, with the Volcano Badge safely in his pocket.

[Mariah Wolff]

Maria walked into the Pokemon Gym, the seveth Gym that would lead her one step closer to beating the Elite Four.

"Blaine I've come for a Gym battle!" She called to him. He turned and smiled, "Alright."

"Two two on two battles?" He raised an eyebrown, "So we battle with four pokemon?" She nodded.

"Alight," He said, "I'll start off with Growlithe and Ponyta."

Maria threw he pokeballs into the arena, letting Blaze and Ember take a fighting stance against their opponants. "Blaze use dig, Ember put them into a firespin." Ember threw a FireSpin attack at them, catching the Growlithe but not the Ponyta.

"Ponyta use Fury Attack." Blaine said, she charged the Ninetails, knocking her away from Growlithe. Blaze came up out of the ground, knocking Growlithe back, breaking the FireSpin. "Double Return attack!" Maria called. The two charged the opposing pokemon, knocking them back.

"Flamethrower!" Blaine called, the two fire types let loost streams of flames.

"Safeguard Ember!" Ninetails put up a safeguard, surrounding Blaze and herself. "Alright Blaze bite Growlithe!" Arcanine rushed up, biting into Growlithe hard, KOing it with the dark attack.

"Ember go in with a body slam!" Maria called, Ember charged, all nine tails whipping behind her, slamming into the ponyta. "Follow up with a double Flamethrower!" She said before Blaine had time to react. The two pokemon nailed Ponyta hard with the fire, when the flames cleared Ponyta was KOed.

Blaine recalled his pokemon, "Very good, now you will battle my evolved pokemon." He threw the two pokeballs containing Arcanine and Rapidash.

Maria recalled Blaze and Ember, she threw Night's pokeball out along with Sunshine. "Alright then, Night use Surf! Sunshine Psybeam!" Dratini filled the stadium with water, knocking off much of the two pokemon's HP. Sunshine's Psybeam missed Arcanine, both of the pokemon being so swift.

"Fire Blast!" Blaine called. The two evolved fire pokemon used one of the strongest Fire attacks on the two, almost KOing them. Maria gasped, "Sunshine you think you can use a Return attack?" She nodded, tackling the Rapidash, sending her back to hit the wall. Night used Thunder on Arcanine, though the attack wasn't enough to KO him.

"Arcanine, Fire Blast on Espeon." The fire attack hit Sunshine, KOing her.

Maria gritted her teeth and recalled Sunshine, "Night full power surf attack!" She called to him. Hit both of the pokemon with Surf, KOing the Rapidash.

Blaine called his pokemon back, "Arcanine use FireBlast!"

Night was stuck by the strong Fire Attack, flying back towards Maria. She gasped as he lay on his side, panting, "Night....are you alright?"

He slowly got up, he glared at Arcanine and threw another attack at the fire dog. Blaine shook his head, "Nice try...."

When the dust cleared Arcanine was on the ground, KOed by the Dragon Rage attack. "Dragon Rage does 40 damage no matter what Blaine, you should know that." Maria said to him, walking over and taking Dratini in her arms. He wrapped around her waist and set his head on her shoulder.

Blaine snarled and recalled his pokemon, walking towards her. "Nice job. Though you need a bit more training I think you'll be able to beat Cassie with a little luck, and it looks like you have that on your side." He handed her the Volcano Badge. "You've earned it. Good luck against Cassie and at the pokemon league."

Maria nodded and thanked Blaine, walking out of his Gym, waving to him.

Aaron walked into the Cinnibar Island Gym, his hair rustling behind him. His hair was slightly dishelved from his hasty entrance, and the gel melted out of his hair. Aaron pushed back a loose strand of hair as he approached a man in a white trenchcoat. A thin body wrapped this man around, with a long neck and a pair of glasses from rear view. His white stringy hair slid down his pale face. The young teen stared at the famous Blaine, who was said to be as fiery as his Pokemon. The room was scalding with heat, and his shoes smelt like burnt rubber.

"Blaine, I come to challenge you." Blaine turned around and cracked a small grin. "Ha. You think you can beat me? Fine, little punk. Let's go." Blaine walked over to a panel and motioned for Aaron to stand back. Aaron complied as Blaine pressed a few buttons. A blare sound out as two large platforms rose, with Aaron standing on one, and Blaine on another. The room filled with lava, and a trickle of sweat beaded down Aaron's face. A bunch of small ground panels arose out of lava as Aaron reached for his belt.

Which Pokemon shall I use? Aaron toyed with different ideas for a while, but decided a better alternative than just a Pokemon. "Blaine, double battle!" Blaine nodded and cracked a wry smile. "Fine, young snapper! Let's get it on!" Blaine reached for two balls in his coat pocket and enlarged them. He hurled them into the sky, and yelled, "Go, Magmar! Go, Rapidash!" Aaron smiled and reached for his countering companions. "Go, Blaster! Go Tank!" His Nidoking and Wartortle released from their Pokeballs. Tank spotted Blaster and snorted in arrogance. Blaster laughed, but nodded to Tank that they should team up. Tank nodded slightly reluctantly.

"Tank, use a Rapid Spin! Blaster, use a Water Gun and spray it at Nidoking at a low voltage!" Nidoking started to spin, while Blaster shot out a blue spray of river water! It shot towards Tank, who used his spin to direct the beam of water. It shot at rapid speed towards Blaine's Pokemon, causing their eyes to burn from extreme water pressure. "Rapidash, use a Flamethrower!!" Rapidash charged towards Wartortle, and used a powerful display of fire. The fire engulfed Wartortle, and Wartortle moaned in agony. "Tank, use a Surf to cool Blaster down!" Tank took a huge wave and crashed it down on Magmar, causing Magmar to faint. The water floated into the lava, cooling it off tremensely. Some of the water splashed onto Blaster, renewing his weary body. Blaster grinned dangerously and used a Bubblebeam worthy of a Super Sayain. It blasted Rapidash into the wall, causing him to be immediately KOed.

"Return Magmar! Return Rapidash!" "Return Tank! Good Job! Return Blaster! Way to go!" The two trainers returned their Pokemon, and after a brief silence and a lowering of the lava and platforms, Blaine stepped towards Aaron and grinned. "Good work, son. You deserve this badge." Blaine handed Aaron a fire-shaped badge, and smiled. "Head over to Cassie to get your last badge. With a little luck and the show you put on today, you can beat her." Aaron nodded and smiled. "Thanks." Aaron walked out the door, a smile spreading across his face.

Meruca walked into the gym to spectate other trainers becouse she had nothin better to do.

[bakaryu]

Bakaryu entered the gym With Staryu by side." Hmmm its a fire gym Staryu, maybe I'll gt a chance to use you here." Said Bakaryu to his companion. " Well hey Tike you must be here for a battle, what do you say to a 2 on 2." Bakaryu replied," Alright mister a 2 on 2 is fine with me."

"Alright then go Growlithe."" You go to Staryu." said Baka. " Hmm a water,psychic type, nice nice and does that STaryu seem a bit different than on cinnabar's reefs?"Answred Blaine. " Yes, Miss Misty gave it to me." "O I see, hope she didnt give you that for no reason, lets begin the battle shall we."

" Growlithe use flame wheel on staryu." "Staryu use bubblebeam to repel his attack." The bubblbeam had done its job and very good at that, making growlithe attack not go out but also hit growlithe with a super effective hit." Now staryu finish it with a swift and send the swift faster with a rapid spin." The super chaged swift had hit growlithe hard enough to knock him out. " Nicely done kid, seems Misty didn't give you that staryu so easily. "Return growlithe, go Arcanine."" Staryu come rest, you're up Frostbite."" Squirtle."

"Hmm a variety of water types, this isn't going to be easy Arcanine, use flamethrower."" Dodge frostbite use protect then use water gun." Protect had worked, but Acanine was able to dodge the water gun attack with his large amount of speed. " Arcanine fire spin, then fire blast." " No Frostbite." Frostbite was trapped in the fire spin and took heavy damage from the Fire blast." Hey squirtle don't give up." Squirtle started glowing emmensly, it obtained a bigger shell, grew a tail and some earsto go with it. Frostbite had now changed into a fully grown Wartortle.

" Woah nice wartortle you evolved." Wartortle" Frostbite grunted. " Hmmm it evolved, alright use extreme speed Arcanine." " Use skull bash Frostbite, give it all you got." The two pokemon collided, but both still standing. " use Fire Blast Arcanine." " It's time to bring out the big move Wortortle, Hydro Pump." "What Wartortle knows that move." Blaine said in shock. Of course the scorching hot Fire Blast was no match for a powerful water move like hydro pump. Hydro pump passed the fire blast and had knocked out Arcanine cold. " alright Frostbite you did it, Awsome."" Wartortle, War." said the two. "Bravo, Bravo you and you're pokemon did excelently heres the badge kiddo." " Aha I got the Volcano badge."Shouted Baka. " Boy those whipper snappers and there badge collecting." He said while returning Arcanine.

Gabriel walked right into the gym.
"Dang...It sure is hot up in here" he said taking his shirt off.
He saw Blaine's shiny forehead.
"Hey Blaine!" said Gabe.
"Hello there" said Blaine.
"Blaine, I've come to challenge you to a 1 on 1." said Gabe.
"I accept your challenge." he said.
"Gyarados, I choose you!" said Gabe.
"Arcanine, come out!"

"Gyarados, use Hydro Pump!" said Gabe.
"Arcanine, extreme speed!" said Blaine.
Arcanine used extreme speed and dodged the Hydro Pump.
"Arcanine, Fire Blast!" said Blaine.
"Gyarados, use Hydro Pump!"
The Hydro Pump cut right through the Fire Blast and hit Arcanine.
"Gyarados, Surf!" said Gabe.
There was no way Arcanine could dodge that huge wave.
"Arcanine....Overheat..." said Blaine.
"Arcanine started glowing... Then it unleashed a flame from it's body, the flame was blidning.
"Ahhh! I can't see crap!" said Gabe.
When Gabe could finally see, he saw that the huge wave was gone.
"Woooooow..." said Gabe in amazement.
"Gyarados, now is your chance, he is weakened from the Overheat!" said Gabe.
"Arcanine Agility!" said Blaine.
"Gyarados, use surf!" said Gabe.
The surf finally hit Arcanine, he couldn't knock it out with Overheat now, since Overheat was now too weak.
Arcanine looked really weak after being hit by the surf.
"Gyarados use Hydro Pump to finish him off!" he said.
"Arcanine, no!" yelled Blaine.
Gyarados unleashed a very powerful Hydro pump from his mouth,
Knocking Arcanine into a wall.
Arcanine had fainted.
"Good job Arcanine, you deserve a good long rest." said Blaine.

"Well, Gabe, you're worthy of the Volcano Badge." said Blaine giving Gabe the Volcano badge.
"Thanks dude." said Gabe shaking Blaine's hand.
Gabriel waved at Blaine as he left the Gym.
Blaine waved back.
Gabriel walked out of the Gym, he was headed for his 8th badge.

Barbie walked in the gym followed by politoad." Hey is the leader here"

Blaine was looking at Barbie"Yes young whipper snapper I am. I know you want a batlle so lets start.I am not much a mood for a long battle for I am to old and tired, it will be 1 on 1. So go ponyta" His ponyta came out stomping its hooves on the ground.

"Politoad use rain dance" Politoad happily danced as the gym started tom rain." Now water gun"

"Dodge then fire spin!" Popnyta started galloping in another direction dodging the water gun, but its hooves slipped on the slippery ground and ponyta fell.

"Now use water pulse." Politoad blasted a water pulse at ponyta and it hit, it was a critical hit and ponyta fainted."Yay I win"

Blaine returned ponyta and walked over"You are good , here is you valcano badge, now please get out I am going to take a nap"

"Thanks and fine I will"She toke the badge and headed out.

Hiro walked into the volcano gym on Cinnabar and saw Blaine talking to his Rapidash.
"Blaine, give me a battle!" Hiro said
"Well, it's been a long time since I had a battle, so I'll accept your challenge. We are going to use two pokémon each in a double battle. I choose you, Rapidash and Arcanine!"
"Hm. Go, Blastoise and Charmeleon!" Hiro said
"Arcanine! Rapidash! Use fire blast!"
"Using a fire attack on a fire and water type? If you do that you're pathetic"
"Don't try to learn me anything kid!"
"Blastoise, protect you and Charmeleon with rapid spin!" The fire blast dissappeared due to the rapid spin. "Now use hydro pump on both of them!"
"Dodge it!" yelled Blaine, and Rapidash dodged, but Arcanine was hit and fainted.
"Charmeleon! Use slash!" Charmeleon hit Rapidash and almost fainted it.
"Rapidash, use tackle on Blastoise!"
"Stop it with hydro pump, Blastoise! Now, both of you, finnish it with skull bash and slash!"
Rapidash fainted and Hiro won the match.
"You really are pathetic. How did you ever manage to be the gym leader here?"
"Shut up kid!" Blaine said "Take the Volcano Badge and leave!"

Richie walked into the gym "a one on one battle for my Badge" Blaine said "i know thats why your here." Richie threw out his kingler. Then blaine threw out his rapidash. Ok use crabhammer. Rapidash dodge it and use stomp. The attack was avioded and he used stomp. Kingler use surf he said. It knocked the rapidash to the ground now finish it with Gullitine it knocked him out with the one hit ko. Here is the badge now leave blaine said.

Jack walked in the volcano gym.It was heating.The gym leader was trainer her pokemon.It will be single 2vs battle Blaine told.Blaine called out her first pokemon Rapidash.Jack called out her first pokemon Venasaur.Rapidash use fire spin.Venosaur use protect.Rapidash gets angry and use a powerful flame thrower.Venosaur was almost fainted but managed to battle.Then Venasaur use solarbeam.A critical hit.Rapidash use fire spin knocking out Venosaur.Jack called back him sending out Blastoise.Blastoise use Hydro pump fainting almost rapidash.Blastoise use skull bash knocking out rapidash.Blaine called back his pokemon and send out arcanine.Arcanine use fire blast.But Blastoise use rapid spin.Blastoise use hydro blast.Now Arcanine was almost fainted.But Arcanine mananged and use heatwave again and again.Now Blastoise was also almost fainted.Then Blastoise used Hydro Blast and Arcanine used fire blast.The both attacks crashed fainting each other somehow the two pokemon managed to stand.And before arcanine could attack blastoise attack with hydro pump.The referee declared that arcanine is unable to battle.Blaine handed Jack a volcano badge and told that the next gym is at viridian city.

Bek entered the gym. It was so hot it felt like an over. Blaine had heard people saying that she had beaten them.
Blaine: So, you've come for the Volcano badge? It will be a 2 on 2 battle.
Bek: Ok. Rex, Air, I choose you two!
Blaine: Rapidash, Growlithe, Go!
The 4 pokemon came out, ready to fight.
Bek: Rex, do a Seismic Toss on Growlithe! Air, Use Hydro Pump on Rapidash!
Blaine: Growlithe! Try and dodge it! Rapidash, Fry that Dragonair!
The poor Growlithe couldn't dodge the Seismic Toss. As soon as the dust cleared from the attack, Growlithe was lying on the ground, knocked out!
Blaine: Growlithe, return!
Rapidash was already starting to show it was weakened. It could hardly run!
Bek: Air, Use Hydro Pump! One last time!
The Dragonair shot a stream of water at the Rapidash!*THUD!* Rapidash had fainted! Bek had won the Volcano badge!
Later...
Blaine: Here's your Volcano badge, Bek! You earned it!
Bek: Thanks!

That afternoon was spent at the pokemon center. Bek only had one badge to go! Tomorrow would be on of her last in the Kanto region...

Bob and her friends decided to battle alone.Bob walked in first.It was boiling.Bob challenged Blaine for 2vs2 battle.Blaine called out rapidash and arcanine.I called out Nidoking and Kingler.Rapidash use fire spin arcanine use fireblast.Nidoking use hyperbeam kingler use bubblebeam.The attacks crashed.Kingler use crabhammer.It hit rapidash.Arcanine use firblast.Kingler was trapped.Nidoking use counter.Arcanine was almost fainted due to his powerful.Arcanine use heatwave.Rapidash use firespin.Kingler was knocked out.I returned him.Nidoking use hyperbeam.It knocked out Arcanine.Blaine returned him.Rapidash use firespin.Nidoking use counter.Raapidash was almost fainted.Nidoking use hyperbeam.Rapidash was knocked out.Blaine returned him and then handed me a volcano badge.
