Gym #5 - Soul Badge

[Harry Dark]

Koga is the leader here, and he uses Psychic and Poison types. He also uses Toxic, which is a very dangerous Poison Attack. Steel or Poison types are recommended, to neutralize the use of Poison, or Ground/Psychic types for super effectiveness.

Aaron entered the Gym, slightly worried on the end result of the battle. He still thought about what Erika said, and he wasn't sure if he had enough of the weakness factor to win. He scanned his Pokemons' levels and went to see what they were:

Charizard- 38
Nidoking- 36
Golbat- 36
Eevee- 34
Scyther- 32
Cubone- 33

Aaron nodded, and walked up to Koga. "Koga," he said, "Ready to battle?" The caped man turned around and grinned darkly. "Yes, young boy," he said, "Prepare to lose." Aaron stared at him coldly. "I don't think so..."

Aaron toyed with his Ball. Koga had explained it would be a 1-on-1, 1 Pokemon for each trainer. This was basically a deathmatch. Aaron waited nervously to see what Koga would choose... "Go, Muk!" Koga said, releasing the glob-like Pokemon. "Go, Bandit!" Aaron said slightly relieved, releasing his stealing Cubone. "Bandit, use Bonemerang!" Bandit threw his bone at Muk, but Muk sucked it up into his glob body. "Bandit!!" "Muk, use Toxic!" Muk smiled, poisoned Bandit's bone, and hurled it back towards him. Bandit became poisoned. "Bandit!" Bandit huffed as the poison drained his HP. "Bandit, evolve!" Bandit knew it was time. He morphed slowly into a Marawok! "Maaaaara-wooook." "Bandit, use Earthquake!" The Muk groaned and gurgled. Bandit smiled his signature grin and used an Earthquake, KOing Muk.

Aaron walked out of the Gym, with his new Soulbadge at his side.

[Harry Dark]

Harry entered the gym, hoping for an easy-ish battle.

Koga was ready for the challenge, and they agreed on a double battle.

Harry grabbed tow Pokeballs off his belt, and threw them into the arena. "Go, Schock and Trecks!" He called, the two Pokemon appearing in a flash of light.

Koga threw out his two Pokeballs, Weezing and Muk appeared.

Harry smiled. "Let's get started!" He said.
"Trecks, Solarbeam! Schock, Thunderbolt!" He shouted, and the two Pokemon obeyed, sending two beams, which merged into one electrified beam which smashed into both Weezing and Muk, exploding.

Both Koga's Pokemon were hurt, and Harry capitalized on this. "OK, let's go! Schock, Explosion! Trecks, take the attack full on!" He called.

Schock glowed bright white, before exploding violently, sending a shock wave around the arena.
Trecks tensed itself, before the shock wave hit him, so minimal damage was done, and was relatively unhurt.

The wave hit Weezing and Muk, almost KOing both of them.

Koga smiled. "Weezing, use explosion!" He called, after Harry had withdrawn Schocks.
Weezing glowed white, and exploded.
Harry smiled. "Trecks, jump up!" He said, and Trecks did exactly that, being forced high up by the explosion, and being badly hurt. Weezing was KOed, but Muk survived.

Trecks started to fall, and Harry smiled. "Trecks, use your momentum to magnify your Body Slam!" He shouted, and Trecks landed heavily on Muk, finishing it off.

Harry grinned and withdrew Trecks. "Great job buddy." He said.

Koga walked over to Harry. "Here. Take this Soul Badge. You earned it." He said, pressing the badge into Harry's palm.

Harry grinned. "Yeah! Only two to go!"

He thanked Koga, and left the gym.

[Mariah Wolff]

Jamie stepped into the Fusia Gym, Maria following behind. "I'm going to watch if that's okay with you."

She nodded to him, "Fine." She looked around Koga's Gym before spying him standing, with his back turned, towards a window. She walked up behind him, "Gym Leader Koga?"

"Yes?" He said.

"I'm here for a Gym Battle..." She said. He turned and looked at her. "Do you think you will beat me?"

"I don't think anything, I hope for the best and presume the worst so that when the end comes I am not dissapointed." She said.

"A good answer, let us begin." He said, "A one on one two, pokemon battle with no time limit?"

"Sounds good to me." She said smiling.

He nodded once and threw a pokeball, "WEEZING!"

"Chardar I want you to take this one." He nodded and stepped forward. Jamie watched on the sidelines, wide eyed. "Chardar use Flamethrower!" She called, Weezing had no time to counter it, getting hit full force by the stream of flames.

"Weezing Sludge Bomb." He said simply. Weezing sent blackish-purple sludge flying at Chardar. He was quickly covered in muk.

"Yuck," Maria said, "Chardar it's taken on alot of damage, time to finish this up with your new attack!" He nodded and opened his mouth to use his attack. When he didn't use it Maria asked, "What's wrong," He turned, spitting out sludge, "Oh."

"Weezing use Explosion." Koga said. Weezing blew itself up, sending Chardar flying back towards his trainer.

"You alright Chardar?" She asked, he shook his head, throwing the rest of the mud off him. He took a step forward as Koga sent out his Muk.

"Muk, Sludge." Muk sent out a simple Sludge attack, knocking Chardar back. He stood up once more and looked at Muk, roaring and then falling with a thunk to the floor on his stomach.

"Your pokemon was poisoned, you did not see."

Maria gaped at her Charizard, "I'm sorry Chardar, return." She recalled him into his pokeball. Charizard was my best chance.....what other pokemon could beat that? Before she could choose Midnight leapt forward, "Midnight!"

"Muk, Toxic." The blob of purple goo sent a clump of toxic sludge at Umbreon, hitting him hard.

Synchronize took effect, poisoning Muk as well. "Alright Midnight use Faint Attack." He charged forward with the DarkAttack, knocking off a significant amount of Muk's life. He was stuck for a moment, "Midnight use ShadowBall!" Maria called out to him. Umbreon sent a Ghost-Type attack at Muk, setting him free again.

"Muk, Body Slam." Koga said. Muk crawled forward.

"Midnight quickly jump behind and use a Shadow Faint Attack!" Midnight darted behind the slow pokemon, sending a ShadowBall into his back and then tackling him with a Faint Attack, backing up away out of the sticky sludge. Muk still stood, ready to use another attack, Midnight couldn't take much more, "Midnight Return!!!" The dark pokemon darted forward with his strongest attack and slammed into Muk.

Muk moaned and went limp, Koga recalled it into it's pokeball. Midnight stood panting, poisoned and weak. "Midnight!" Maria called to him, "You alright?" He nodded, she quickly gave him an antidote followed up by a few berries so he could regain strength. She looked at Koga.

"Well done. I believe you have beated my two strongest pokemon." He stepped towards her, "I did not at first think you could do it, and when I saw how you did not notice your Charizard was poisoned. Then how your Umbreon jumped forward without command, I thought you a bad trainer, not knowing how to take care of or controll your pokemon. But now I see, how you battled with your Umbreon, you make a good team. Your Return attack would not be so strong if this were untrue. And it gives me pleasure in knowing that this Soul Badge is going away with a great trainer." He handed her the heart shaped badge. "Good luck on your journies."

Maria smiled at Jamie, "Well I'm going to go on back North to Saffron. Sabrina's Gym's there and I think that I can beat her now."

"Alright. I hope we meet again someday. And when we do I'll be just a good a trainer as you are Maria."

"You keep up that attitude and you will be. Hey who knows you might become the Gym Leader yourself."

He beamed, "And I'll become the best Eevee trainer in the world. Take good care of Sunshine."

"I will. And we will meet again someday, I promise." She said, waving and walking over to Chardar. "Bye Jamie, good luck!"

He waved as Chardar took off, sillouetted against the sun falling behind the ocean. "Good Luck to you too!" Charizard circled once before soaring back north towards Saffron.

Baka:" Alright Staryu and Abra its time to earn our 5th badge. Staryu and Abra I plan to use you two in these fights and I know it's you're first gym battle. Staryu, you should have some experience with gym battles while being at Misty's gym right." He said while walking towards Koga. Koga turned around smoothly as if a real ninja and said," Well another trainer walks in here only to be defeated by me. Alright so should we have a double battle.?" Bakaryu replied," Alright its youre gym, but don't think I came here to lose."

" Alright go Koffing, Weezing. he said with smoke flying from the two pokemon. "Well guys youre debut is about to start, show um what you got." " Use smokescreen koffing, then you use Toxic on that abra Weezing." said Koga with full confidence.Bakaryu smiled and said," abra teleport then use psychic on that koffing and Staryu use bubbleam into the smoke." Koffing was hit with a psychic followed by and bubblebeam which Koed him.

" Still think you're going to win." said Bakaryu with a devious smirk. Koga laughed and said," Weezing use Toxic now." The toxic had hit Abra hard and and was down on the ground. "No abra." Bakaryu said. Abra started glowing and soon turned into an Kadabra. "Woah Kadabra." Bakaryu said with excitement in his eye. Koga had a shocked and worried look at the same time.
" Weezing Toxic again."" Kadabra teleport then use psychic." said the two opponents. Kadabra had dodged and held the Weezing high in the air tightly squeezing him until he seemed knocked out.

The referee declared Bakaryu the winner. " Never have i thought I would be defeated by you, but it seems I thought wrong. Here take this gym badge as a sign of how strong you are.

Gabriel and Arcanine were at the gym door.
"Arcanine, lets inside of that gym and win." he said confidently.
"Rooooooar!" said Arcanine.
Gabriel walked inside of the gym with Arcanine behind him.
"God this place sucks." said Gabe.
Arcanine laughed.
Gabriel walked up to Koga.
"What's up, dude?" Gabriel asked Koga.
"Nothing...." said Koga with a strange look.
"I've come to challenge you."said Gabe.
"To a 1 on 1." he said.
"1 on 1 it is." said Koga.

"Arcanine lets win." said Gabe confidently.
Arcanine went into the battlefield.
"Weezing, I choose you!" yelled Koga throwing the Pokeball in the air.
"Weezing toxic!"
"Arcanine dodge it and use extremespeed!" said Gabe.
Arcanine dashed towards Weezing.
Arcanine hit Weezing hard.
"Weezing use toxic again!" yelled Koga.
"Arcanine try to dodge it again!"
Arcanine couldn't dodge it this time and was poisoned.
"Arcanine stay strong, use flamethrower!" said Gabe.
"Rooooooar!" roared Arcanine as it let out a huge flame.
Weezing was burned.
"Weezing use body slam!" said Koga.
"Arcanine jump and use fire spin!"
Arcanine trapped Weezing inside of the fire spin.
"Now, Arcanine use Fire Blast!"
"Roooooooooooooooaaar!" roared Arcanine as it let out a huge flame from his mouth.
"Haha, good luck living through Arcanine's Fire Blast." said Gabe taunting Koga.
Weezing fainted.
"Great job Weezing, rest." said Koga.
"Great job Arcanine!" yelled Gabe.
"Gabriel, you are worthy of the Soul Badge." said Koga handing Gabe the badge.
Gabriel walked out of the gym, on Arcanine's back.
"You did great Arcanine." said Gabe hugging Arcanine.
"Now, lets go to Sabrina's gym." he said.
"Arcanine extreme speed!" said Gabe.
"Roooar!" roared Arcanine, going super fast.

[B-G]

Barbie enetered"Hey leader are you up for a match.?" With that question asked a puff of smoke came out and when gone koga was there and threw his pokeball revealing a koffinf when it was out.

"Go poliwag, use water pulse" Her poliwag came out and blasted a water pulse at koffing. It hit koffing.

"Use smog, then sludge." The area soon started filling with a poisonous smog. Koffing then used sludge.

"Poliwag dodge then another water pulse!" Poliwag jumped and used water pulse. It hit koffing and it was a critical hit. Koffing fainted. Poliwag glowed when itstopped it was a polwhirl"Alright."

"Lets see if you can beat this one! Go koffing, use sludge" Another koffing came out and used sludge.

"Use water gun to aviod the attack" Poliwhirls water gun stopped the sludge from reaching poliwhirl."Now try a ice punch!" Polwhirls fist glowed with a little mini blizzard. Poliwhirl jumped ready to punch koffing.

"Explosion." With that koffing exploded, fainting both poliwhirl and koffing, both returned theyre pokemon. Koga released his Muk and Barbie her Ivysaur."Muk use sludge bomb"

" Dodge and razor leaf" Ivysaur dodged most of the sludge bombs but got hit by some, then it launched its razor leaf. It didnt do much damage even though it was a critical hit."More razor leafs." Ivysaur sent more razor leafs at Muk.

"More sludge bombs" They both got hit by the others attcks." Now muk body slam" Muk jumped and slammed on Ivysaur.

"Ivysaur try and get out!" Ivysaur glowed and changed form. It was now a Venusaur."Razor leaf it" Venusaur sent many leafs at Muk while Muk tried to crush it.Venusaur fainted. Barbie returned Venusaur."Raichu go beat up muk with shock wave." Raichu came out and used shock wave which hit muk and it fainted.

"A tougher match I would expect, go my Weezing" Koga let out his Weezing."Use hyper beam!"

"Protect" A barrier around raichua appeared and it took the beams hit."Use shock wave again!" Raichu let out another shock wave which hit weezing. Barbie knew pokemon needed to rest after a hyper beam so she would get 1 more free hit before it attacked."Lets finish this with thunder!" Raichu let out a large thunder which lit up the gym, but not only hit Weezing but Barbie, and Koga. When Raichu was done, weezing fainted, but she saw she hit Barbie and Koga. Raichu looked alittle embarrassed now.

"Erhmm. Well we can say that was a shocking battle. As proof of your victory, here is your badge" Koga held out his hand with the gyms badge.

"Thank you." Barbie took it and headed to the center.

Adam glared darkly entering the gym He was the darkest he could be with a black cape now and his pokemon becoming more evil with every level up. He saw the purple smoke at the top of the arena and looked at Koga, "Its a first to 3 match, No pokemon the same allowed, So go Weezing"
"Go Primape Karate Chop Attack!"
"Weezing use toxic" Toxic gases were emitted and Fist was KO'd instantly "1-0 to me then" Koga said "Go Muk"
"Go Kadabra use Psybeam"
It ripped apart muk and got Adam a point
1-1 came up on the score board
"Ok go Koffing"
"Go Pidgeot"
"Use Toxic!"
"Use Whirlwind"koffin was blown away by the gust and the toxic was homing afer pidgeot
"Use gust and blow the gas away then use steel wing"
"Use toxic again" The gas was blown away, and Pidgeot went in for the steel wing but toxic was emitted and pidgeot was Ko'd but so was Koffing
2-2 the scoreboard came up with. the winner of this one the soul badge. "Go Koffing" He shouted it was a level 35 like Venus, Adam shouted "Go Venus Use solar beam" Solar Beam hit Koffing full on in the face KO'd Adam recieved the sould badge

[Hiro Fenrir]

As he was going to the gym, Hiro saw Jessica and Koga go out of the pokémon center.
"Hiro!" said Jessica "I did it! I defeated Koga! Well, it was on my second try, but I defeated him! Well Hiro, I'm seeing you after your gym match, I'm off to the safari zone!" Jessica ran towards the safari zone.
"That girl sure likes to talk" Koga said "well I guess you also are a challenger, am I right?"
"....yeah" Hiro answered
"Well then, let's enter my gym..."

"In this battle, we are using three pokémon each, you gotta decide which one you are going to use before the match starts. You must keep the rest of your pokéballs with my apperantice"
Hiro decided which one he was going to use, and gave the rest of his pokémon to the guy standing by the arena.
"Well, we're starting! Go Koffing!"
"Hm. Go Scyther!" Hiro knew that the poison type was super effective on a bug pokémon, but he just NEEDED to test out Scyther's strenghts.
"Hah!" said Koga "Koffing! Use sludge bomb!"
"Scyther, avoid it!"
The super-speedy Scyther avoided the attack of the Koffing.
"Now, Scyther! Use slash!" Scyther hit it's target with a powerful slash attack.
"Very well" said Koga "Koffing use sludge bomb again!"
This time it hit Scyther and it fainted. Even though it lost, Hiro was not going to release the Scyther because he knew it had alot more power to show.
"Okay, Arcanine, I choose you!" Hiro yelled

"Arcanine, finnish him with flamethrower!" Hiro said
Koffing fainted, and Koga sent out Muk.
"Muk, use toxic!" it hit Arcanine and poisoned it
"Arcanine, use flamethrower again!" It hit the Muk and it became burnt.
"Muk, the poison in him should have weakened him enough now. Finnish him with sludge bomb!" Arcanine fainted due to the poison.

Now Koga had two pokémon left and Hiro had only one.
"Hm. Go, Wartortle!" said Hiro
"Wartortle, use water gun!" Wartortle got a critical hit and fainted the Muk.
"Muk, return" said Koga "Weezing, come out!"
"Wartortle, use water gun again!"
"Dodge, and use sludge bomb!" It dodged and hit Wartortle.
"Wartortle, charge him with rapid spin!"
Wartortle sent Weezing spinning around.
"Now, end this match with your water gun!" Hiro yelled
Weezing fainted, and the tired Wartortle started glowing white.

Hiro and Koga watched as Wartortle evolved into a mighty Blastoise.

"Well kid. I've got to admit it, you sure got some skills. Here's your soulbadge" Hiro took the soulbadge and withdrew his Blastoise and went to find Jessica

[Richie Kindson]

Richie walked into he gym knowing it waould be his hardest battle to date. He entered the Gym and said Koga Time for me to win the soul badge. Koga smiled go ahead and face me a 2vs 2 battle. Richie shook his head. Abra jumped off his back and entered the arena he threw his pokeball with Ivysaur as well. Koga threw out Muk and Weezing. Ok Ivysaur use Vine whip and Abra use physic. Abra used physic and the Muk staggered backwards and then was grabbed by vine whip. Now charge it up Ivysaur. Abra use physic on Wezzing. Wezzing used sludge bomb and hit the abra kncoking tt back. Abra got up and grabbed the Wezzng he was poisined but did not let go.Ivysaur now he said as it knocked the Muk away and it fiented. Koffing use sludge bomb the Abra jumped up and it hit venasaur it was a critical hit knocking it out. Wezzing use smog The abra was blinded he. Wezzing knocked him through the fog. Abra barely got up and then used physic with the last of his strenght. It knocked him out instantly. Abra started to Glo he was now a Kadabra. Koga gave him the Badge and said congratulation and here is the soul badge.

[Starla]

Starla entered the gym silently. Koga seemed occupied with other things and didn't notice her walk up to him. He jumped with a start when she spoke.

"Excuse me. I would like to challenge you to a gym battle." She said in her normal soft, quiet voice. Vincent sat on her shoulder and nodded at her request. Koga eyed the tiny Pichu.

"That is not a normal size for a pichu." he stated then nodded. "Very well. I hope you have antidotes handy." He motioned for Starla to move to the other side of the gym. he sent out his first pokemon, a Koffing. Starla sent out Slasher. The sandslash looked ready for action. The silver haired trainer had never met a more egger pokemon when it came to a battle.

The fight started out with Slasher digging underground. the Koffing looked around then filled the air with a smoke screen so when slasher came up from the ground he would miss. That didn't work out. The Koffing was hit from below by Slasher and KOed by a powerful slash attack. Koga then sent out his other Koffing. Slasher did the same attacks he did to the last one. It was KOed just as fast. A Muk was sent out next.

Muk was going to be somewhat of a problem. Starla and Slasher both knew this. Slasher went underground again. When slasher came up the hit was critical but Muk was still up. After a flurry of Slashes, Muk finally countered with Toxic and a body slam. Starla called Slasher back, but he refused to give up. He was poisoned but didn't care. He used an attack that Starla didn't know he could learn and knew she didn't teach him. The earthquake hit and Muk went down. Sometimes she wondered about her pokemon. They all seemed to have a hasty nature. Well... when it came to Vincent and Slasher. She called to the Sandslash again wanting him to rest. The poison sapped away some of his energy but again he refused to return.

Koga sent out his final pokemon, a Weezing. Slasher went back underground. The poision sapped more of his energy away. He came up under the Weezing with a critical hit but the Weezing countered with tackle. Slasher hit the wall and passed out. Starla recalled him swiftly muttering about the long talk she would have with him later about being so reckless. She took ahold of Spear's poke ball and was about to send out the fearow, when Vincent charged off her shoulder. Starla blinked in surprise.

"Vincent?" she asked in confusion. the tiny Pichu looked back and smiled at her then turned towards the Weezing and rushed at it with his surprisingly powerful Volt Tackle. He super charged it with a quick attack and hit the Weezing full on. the floating poison pokemon faltered from the attack and unleashed a smog attack. Vincent coughed for a moment then was plowed into as the poison pokemon tackled him. Starla called out to him to use a quick attack and he did just that. Then came another Volt tackle as the tiny electric mouse started to glow brightly. The attack hit and knocked the Weezing into the wall KOing it as a pichu sized Pikachu stood triumphantly in the center of the gym floor. Starla rushed over to her newly evolved pokemon, scooped him up into her arms, and hugged him tightly. She was so proud of him.

Koga came over to them and held out a badge to the silver haired trainer. She accepted it with a smile a nod and a bow. Vincent cheered happily then took his normal place upon her shoulder as she headed back to the pokemon center to revive Slasher and have the 'long talk' with him.

"4v4 double battle sound good" Zack said "sure go koffing and koffing" Koga said. Zack said "ok go Dragonair and Golem use rock throw and dragonair use flamethrower" both of Zacks attacks hit with furiosity and koed one of them and then Koga said "no, go Muk and use sludge bomb and kofing use poison gas" Zack then said "ok dont breath the air and use earthquake and flamethrower on koffing " Muk was shook and kofing was cindered and fainted Koga said "go weezing and Muk use sludge bomb on dragonair" dragonair fanted and Zack said "no go alakazam" "now weezing slude bomb on golem" koga yelled golem fainted and zack said "go Blastoise freez weezing so it drops and alakazam use psychic on muk" muk fainted and koga said "no argh" Zack then said "ok blastoise use Hydro Pump and alakazam use psychic" weezing fainted and Koga said "uve earned the badge bye" Zack walked out to head back to Celedon.

Jack walked walked in the gym and looked for the gym leader Koga.He was training her pokemon.Jack asked him for a battle.He agree and told the gym rule.This time the rules were different.We have a 4vs4 battle.There will be two rounds.In the1st round we choose 2 pokemon.If my or your's one pokemon is fainted the others is not you will have to continue with that pokemon until your both pokemon are fainted.Jack understanded and started.Koga called out kofing and muk.Jack called out wartortle and magnemite.

Wartortle use hydro pump,Magnemite use thunderbolt Jack shouted.Muk and kofing hurted.Magnemite's thunderbolt was too strong so Jack commanded him to use thunderwave.Kofing got paralyzed.But muk attack with sludge.Wartortle got poisoned.Magnemite use thunderbolt Jack called.Muk use Sludge Koga called.Muk was'nt fainted but magnemite was almost fainted.Suddenly magnemite begin to glow and evolved into a bigger form.It evolved into magneton.Magneton use tria attack.Muk dodged it but it hit kofing.Kofing become fainted.Wartortle was now no longer poisoned Muk used sludge to pioson it again but this timi wartoertle dodged.Magneton and Wartortle worked together and manage to faint muk but now magneton is also fainted the two pokemon returned to their pokeball and koga send out two another pokeball.There came a kofing and a weezing.

Kofing use smokescreen and weezing use sludge.Wartortle fainted.Jack called back wartortle and called out bulbasaur and butterfree.Butterfree use solarbeam Jack called.While butterfree charged bulbasaur use vinewhip and razor leaf.But Kofing and Weezing was almost fainting bulbasaur but butterfree charge and use solarbeam weezing and kofing used smokecreen and then sludge they fainted butterfree.Bulbasaur was lonely weezing and kofing again use the same pattern.Suddenly bulbasaur begin to glow.It evolved into Ivysaur use razoleaf Jack shouted.Kofing fainted.Koga called it back and commanded weezing to use smoke screen but before weezing can use smokescreen ivysaur use solarbeam knocking him out.They both called back their pokemon and shake hands.Koga handed him the soul badge and walked away.
