Aaron battled different varieties of trainers, leveling up his Pokemon, in particular Blazer. He had leveled him up to level 34, and was almost reading for evolution. Blazer looked slightly exhausted, so Aaron gave him a Potion, a Ether and a Oran Berry to munch on. He had bought it at the Vermillion Sea Market. It was apparently a common healing berry in Hoenn.
"Yo kid," a cocky trainer yelled, "Wanna battle?" Aaron smiled coolly as he turned around. It was a Pokemon Ranger, who usually revolved around environmentally-friendly Grass-types. Perfect. "Alright, a 1-1 Battle." "Fine," the inexperienced Ranger said. Rangers were supposed to be friendly, kind and humble servants of the Regions, protecting and serving those weaker than them. He was obviously oblivious to the fact. Aaron sent out Blazer...
Aaron walked down the Route, jumping down little rocks and such. Blazer was almost a Charizard, his level being 35. He had beaten that chumpy trainer. Aaron smiled and continued to walk through the tall grasses. He quickly made it to the Rock Tunnel. Blazer wasn't quite the level he had achieved, but he would level up soon. He looked up into the sky drowsily, and spotted a Charizard flying through the air, a mysterious trainer on it's back. He couldn't quite make the Trainer out. "Cool," Aaron said, pointing the duo to Blazer. "That's what we're going to look like soon."
"Not really," a gruff voice said. Aaron spun around. A young, rugged- looking man stood there, with a tall Magmar behind his back. Aaron stood surprised. "Who are you?" "You can call me Brannford," he said, "I'm visiting this region of Kanto. Anyways, you're not going to look like that unless you love your Charmeleon dearly. It's not always good to rush your evolutions. Take time to enjoy the beauty of each evolution. Now, I understand you want to evolve your Charmeleon to a Charizard, which you'll probably achieve soon. But I just want you to remember what I've said."
Aaron looked at the earnest-looking man. "Okay," Aaron said, "Thanks. I'll remember that." "No problem," the man chuckled, "Just passing on words given to me from Blaine, the Fire-Master. I'm his son, Brannford." "Cool," Aaron said. "Here," Brannford said, "Take this, and teach it to your Charizard. It will be of great use for you." Brannford handed him a HM. "It's called Flash. Sometimes even the tail of a Fire-Pokemon can't light up a room, such as the Rock Tunnel before you. Use it and be wise." With that, Brannford slowly walked off. "Wait..." Aaron said, but took the HM. He taught it to Blazer.
Aaron walked into the Tunnel, his eyes shining with anticipation and exhilaration. Don't rush the time with your Pokemon.

Chardar swept onto the ground, just outside the cave. Maria dismounted her Charizard and patted him on the head, "Thanks, that was really fun, we need to do that more often." He roared and tucked his wings behind his back. Ace swept down, into the cave. "Let's go find Aaron." She said, following her Pidgeotto in, Eve on her shoulder and Chardar right behind her.

Harry entered the Route, Voltorb behind him.
He remembered something his father said to him the day before he left for Pallet.
If you forget everything else, remember this:
There is always something that can help you, however small, or big. You just have to find it.
Harry thought about this as Voltorb rolled about in the grass, enjoying the sunshine.
A thought hit him.
"Oh yeah! Rock Tunnel is dark! I need Flash!" Harry said, grabbing his TM Case, and flipping through to HM Flash. Voltorb wandered over, interested.
"Voltorb, you want to learn Flash? So we can get through Rock Tunnel?" Harry asked, Voltorb examining the disc. It eventually nodded, and seemingly inserted the disc into it's head. It buzzed for a moment, then the disc came out again, and Harry replaced it in the case.
They made their way over to a patch of shade.
"OK Voltorb, use Flash!" Harry called.
Voltorb paused for a moment, then a bright white light came out of it's eyes, illuminating the shade. Harry cheered, and Voltorb returned to normal. "Great job!"
The pair made their way along the Route, Voltorb using Flash to dazzle more than one wild Pokemon. They eventually reached the end of the Route, and saw the Pokemon Center up ahead.

Not encountering much wild pokemon Bakaryu went down into Rock Tunnel.

Seth walked along it his Charmeleon at his side, looking at his trainer card in his hand."Wow, I can't believe this.... our third badge." He said to Charmeleon. So Seth walked along until he saw the entrance to the Rock Tunnel.

As they were walking to the rock tunnel, Hiro were wondering if his Eevee would evolve soon. Bill had said that it needed to be happy with it's trainer to evolve. Hiro looked at Eevee who looked pretty happy. To make him even stronger, he took a battle with a pathetic trainer wearing some really short shorts.
He easily defeated his Raticate and after a while they finally reached the rock tunnel.

In the dark underground path, Smokey lead until they found the staircase. The other side of the path was much brighter, and Kathy wondered why. They exited the the building to find them selfs back at Cerulean, "It's nice to be back, Cerulean is just up there and Rock Tunnel right around there," Kathy pointed to a narrow path, "Come on!"
"Here kid, let's have a battle!" It was a chubby,huge Hiker, Kathy could see his dark eyes fixed on her, "Alright...1 on 1!" Hikers really did scare her, always rushy and to her...mean.
As they got near, the air seem to get heaver. Kathy battle lots of different trainers to level up his Pokemon, mainly Dragoon. After a few battles, Dragoon was exhausted and tired out, and Kathy used a Potion on it, and gave it a Pecha Berry, "Here, have some..." Dragoon ate it whole, "Wow, what a Horsea!!" Hubert exclaimed. Kathy thanked him, "I took the time to care, I really adore Dragon and Water types," Hubert caught on, "Then why didn't you start with a Squirtle?" Kathy froze, why hasn't she thought of this before? She loved water and she picked a fire, "Uh...that...I felt like it," Kathy didn't say more but, "Come on, we'd better get going," John returned his Bulbasaur he got out, "Good idea, I really want a Pokemon inside a cave, and I just caught this Ekans!" Kathy rolled her eyes, she didn't like snakes, "Just keep it from me..."

Bek: We'll never get there now! Even if we're almost all the way through! We'll never make it by nightfall!
As the group continued until they saw the mouth of a tunnel. Their journey had only just begun. They walked slowly, into the dark tunnel....
