Route 24: Cerulean City - Trainer Bridge

This is a short route, used mainly for access to Cerulean Cave, and for beating the Trainers on the Bridge.

There is long grass, and water access on this route, but it is mainly trainers.

[Harry Dark]

Harry looked straight up the bridge, Beedrill perched on his shoulder. Bulbasaur was leaning against his leg, she wasn't the most active of Pokemon. Nidoran was running around Bulbasaur and Harry's leg pretty aimlessly.
Harry looked down at it, and it grinned sheepishly. Harry shook his head, trying hard not to laugh. Nidoran got bored and decided to go and stick some spikes in a nearby tree, and managed to get stuck.

Harry walked over and pulled it out. "Now behave!" He said, Beedrill reiterating the point with its stings.

Harry continued up the bridge, Beedrill quickly rushing back to his shoulder. Nidoran followed a short way behind, trying not to get into too much mischief, and Bulbasaur did it's best to continue using Harry to prop itself up.

Harry approached the first trainer, and Nidoran quickly ran up behind him, almost falling over.
"Hey, want a match?" Harry asked the boy, who was a little younger than him.
The boy smiled. "Yeah, you're on!" He said, grabbing a pokeball.

Harry waited to see what they were up against before selecting a Pokemon.

The boy threw the pokeball, and out came a Pidgeotto.
Harry smiled. "You're up Nidoran!" He called, the surprised Pokemon taking a few moments to appear from behind Harry, where it had tripped over in excitement.

Nidoran squared up to the Pidgeotto, it's horns standing on end.
Harry opened the battle.
"Nidoran, Tackle Attack!" He called, but the Pidgeotto dodged quickly, and tried a Peck. Nidoran easily dodged it, using the momentum from the earlier attack.
"Nidoran, Poison Sting!" Harry called, and Nidoran fired the stings at Pidgeotto, only hitting it briefly, but enough to poison it.
The Pidgeotto was getting weaker by the second, and the young trainer realised this.
"Pidgeotto, use Gust, then Peck if you can!" He called, acting fast.
Pidgeotto obeyed, flapping it's wings powerfully to whip up some wind.
Nidoran anchored itself, refusing to be blown backwards.
Pidgeotto tried harder, but Nidoran was really determined.
Eventually the poisoning got the better of the Pidgeotto, and it fainted.
Harry cheered, and patted Nidoran on the head.
Nidoran cheered, with Beedrill and Bulbasaur.
The two trainers shook hands, and Harry smiled. "Great match." He said.
The young trainer agreed. "Go and see the tall man at the end for your prize."
Harry nodded, and set off to the top of the bridge, Nidoran in hot pursuit.

They arrived at the tall man, who beamed at them.
"Congratulations for beating one of our expert trainers! Here is your prize!"
The man held out a small gold nugget.
Harry took it, and looked it over. It looked like it was worth a lot of money.
Harry pocketed it, and thanked the man. Nidoran bounded around, full of energy, while Bulbasaur attempted to sleep in Harry's arms.

Harry decided to carry on towards Bill's Cottage, and Cerulean Cape. Beedrill fluttered along next to him, Bulbasaur was snoring, and Nidoran was leaping about. Harry felt great as he set off towards Bill's Cottage to meet the man himself.

Maria and her three pokemon were walking up the bridge to visit Bill after beating Misty at the Gym. A trainer caught her eye and turned to her, "You'll have tp beat me if you want to get any farther..."
She glared at him, "Then prepare yourself for a beating..."

Battle:

The trainer sent out an Ekans.

"Alright, Eve let's go!" Maria said. Eve stepped forward, confronting the large purple snake.

"Ekans use bite!" The trainer shouted.

"Dodge it and use Quick attack!" Eve followed suit and dodged the snake, making it slam into the ground. He dug his feet into the ground and jumped with a twist. Eve tackled Ekans to the ground.

"Now, while it's stunned use a body slam!" Maria said. Eve rushed the snake once again.

"Use poison sting!" The trainer called. Ekans stung Eve with poison needles. Eve backed away, trying to shake them out of his fur.

"Eve use return!" Maria called to him. The brown fox attacked the snake once more, knocking it to the ground, unconcious.

The trainer recalled Ekans, "It won't be so easy this time!" He sent out a sandshrew, "GO!"

"Alright Eve, you've done enough. Come on back." She called to him. Eve bounded over to his trainer and landed on her shoulder. "Good, now Chardar let's go, this will be no problem for you." Chardar walked over and looked down at the sandshrew. "Char."

"Sandshrew use sand-attack!" It knocked dust into Chardar's face. He swatted it away.

"Chardar Metal Claw attack!" He slashed at the Sandshrew with his sharp claws, "Follow it up with an Ember attack!" Maria said quickly.

The sandshrew backed away, "Use scratch attack!" The ground type pokemon scratched at the air, too afraid to get too close to Charmeleon.

"Alright Chardar use Ember once more!" Maria called. The sandshrew hit the ground, knocked out. "Good job Chardar!" Maria called to him as he walked back to her.

"Nice job trainer! You beat me... now go to the end of the bridge. There's someone waiting for you."

Maria headed down the bridge with Eve in her arms.


"Well done! Here's your prize!" He said, handing her a gold nugget.

"Thanks." Maria said, and before he could say another word, bounded off towards Bill's house...

Shadow walked onto the trainer bridge and a small boy walked up to him saying something about his super strong pokemon. He sent out a level 10 rattata which was killed in one hit by Nidorina's double kick. The boy ran crying and his older brother came. His brother sent out a sandshrew level 14. Nidorina used mega kick and sandshrew used scratch. Nidorina KO'd it with a scratch of its own. The older brother went away to get his dad who had a level 15 raticate and a level 15 abra. The abra did nothing but attempt to teleport and fainted from a few poison stings. Then Nidorina used doulbe kick on raticate and raticate used hyper fang. Nidorina double kicked it again and it fainted. The father left and no one else came. Nidorina grew to level 19 after this. The two then continued on to find the man named bill that was said to have rare pokemon.

Bakaryu accepted the offer of the trainer whop had looked ready for any battle he came for.

Baka:" Alright, Moboar come on out."

Moboar:" Mankeeeeeeee."

Josh:" Alright you come out to oddish. Oddish use absorb."

Baka:" Moboar dodge and use karate chop on oddish."

Moboar dodged the absorb and hit oddish dead on with a karate chop.

Josh:" Oddish use stun spore."

Baka: " No Moboar."

Moboar was paralyzed from oddishes stun spore.

Josh:" Ok oddish use absorb full power."

Baka:" Moboar watch out." Moboar was getting very angry and used a new attack."

Moboar was furious and escaped parlyzation and the end result of his anger was th move frustration. Oddish was knocked out.

Baka:" What was that attack."

Josh:" No way how did I get beat."

Bakaryu took out his poke-Dex.
Poke-Dex-"Frustration, a move powered by a pokemons anger."

Baka:" Alright Moboar you learned frustration."

Josh:"Awww, please head down the road and accept the prize for deafeating me."

Bakaryu headed down the road to accept his prize.

Man:" Ahh for a fine battler a fine nugget, heres your prize little man."

Finishing up the trainer bridge Bakaryu and the gan went down to the long grass for some training. Bakaryu had managed to find a pair of pokemon, a bellsprout and an oddish.

Baka:" Hey oddish, bellsprout wanna have a two on two battle?
Oddish:" Odd."
Bellsprout:" Bell."

Baka:" Moboar, Frostbite you're up, show um what you got."
Frostbite:" Squir."
Moboar:" Mankey."

Baka:" Moboar use Leer , then give oddish a scratch attack., Frostbite use tackle on bellsprout."

Moboar leered the oddish down and succesfully hit him with scratch, and squirtle's attack wasn't its hardest but hit bellsprout succesfully. Bellsprout retaliated with a powerful vine whip against squitle and oddish missed a tackle.

Baka:" Argghhh Frostbite withdraw, moboar use frustration on Frostbite."

Bakaryu's plan had worked using frustration on squirtle in withdraw mode to send him flying into oddish knocking her out.
Bellsprout had managed to grab squirtle's shell when he had stoped and threw him with her vines, frostbite was knocked out.

Baka:" No, Frostbite return. Mankey lets finish this use karate chop."

Moboar's attack missed due to bellsprout's amazing reflexes. Bellsprout used wrap on Moboar holding and squeezing him tightly.

Baka:" Moboar wait a little longer then use frustration."

Knowing that the angrier Moboar was the stronger frustration would be. Moboar knocked out bellsprout succesfully.

Baka:" Allright Moboar you did it. Hmm can't just leave them there, Go pokeballs."
Pokeball:"Tick,Tick,Tick,Tiicckkk."
Baka:" Alright I caught Bellsprout and oddish."

[Jakob and Jasmine]

jake was walking towards the bridge when he was attacked by a bellsprout. he decided that it was a good pokemon and decided to catch it.
"golbat use poison sting" jake commanded his golbat
purple needles flew towards the grass pokemon and hit it squarely on the head and it fell over.
"pokeball catch it" the bellsprout disappeared leaving a shaking pokeball behind

2 shakes
3 shakes
4 shakes
and then the light went out

later...

jake arrived at the bridge. he didnt see any trainers so decided to walk across it when a small girl appeared and asked him to battle which jakob accepted.
the small girl released a paras to battle so jakob sent out spearow knowing he would have an advantage
"spearow use quickattack" jake commanded
the paras dodged and countered with a scratch attack that clipped spearows wing
spearow fell to the ground in pain as jakob rushed over with a potion to heal his pokemon
"spearow use gust" he told it
the attack hit the paras and sent it flying across the bridge before it got up and used a stunspore on spearow
the stunspore almost worked when it was blown away by a sudden gust of wind and spearow was able to defeat it with a powerful wingattack
the little girl returned the pokemon and addressed jake
"congratulations you have just beaten the strongest trainer on this bridge i reward you with this golden nugget" she handed him a small golden ball which he pujt away in his pocket before smiling and saying
"thanks that was a tough battle little girl"
the girl looked up and told him her name was jasmine and that she would like to travel with hm to get stronger and be able to run her own gym
jake told jasmine that was fine with him and they left together to go to the pokemon gym

Seth decided to go to the trainer bridge instead of the gym. He wanted to catch a psychic type abra. And sure enough, he ran into one. " Go, Paras! Use Leech Life!" The attack sent abra hurting, but it wanted more. " Paras, use poisonpowder!" That finished it " Go, pokeball!" The abra was caught. Now, towards the house of the man named Bill.

Seth decided to walk this way back, running into a Bellsprout, and catching it. Now, to take on Misty.

Barbie was walking here for she heard a certian pokemon lived. here"Oddish there you are. Butterfree go beat it up with psychic." Butterfree used psychic on oddish making it weak."Go luxaryball!" Oddish went in and she heard a ding."alright my 6th pokemon. which will blossom into a cute bellosom. Now to go beat up misty."

[Gay]

As Gabe walked with Barbie, he saw a trainer.
The trainer said "Hey, wanna battle?"
"Yes," answered Gabe.
"Lets make it a 3 on 3."
"Got it" replied the trainer.
"Ok, go weedle!" yelled the trainer as he threw the Pokeball in the air.
"Hmph, Ok. Go Caterpie!"
Gabe released the Caterpie.
"Weedle use poison sting!" commanded the trainer.
"Caterpie, dodge and counter with tackle!"
Caterpie hit weedle.
"Hey, you're good" said the trainer.
"Same to you too." said Gabe.
"Weedle, string shot!"
Caterpie was covered in a web.
"Ok, now use poison sting!"
Caterpie had then come out of the web, fainted.
"You did great buddy, return"
"You're not half bad" said Gabe.
"You haven't seen anything yet." replied the trainer.
"No more fooling around, go Charmeleon!"
Charmeleon came out of its Pokeball.
"Ok, Charmeleon use flamethrower!"
The weedle was instantly defeated.
"Weedle return" said the trainer.
"Go Machop!" said the trainer as he released the Machop.
"Machop, use karate chop!"
It hit Charmeleon in it's head.
Charmeleon had then gotten really mad.
"Ok, Charmeleon use scratch!"
Charmeleon scratched the Machop.
"Ok, now use flamaethrower!" said Gabe.
The flamethrower defeated Machop.
"Good, work Machop return" said the trainer.
"I must admit, you've got skill" said the trainer.
"But can you handle my vaporeon?" asked the trainer as he released his Vaporeon.
"Dang..." said Gabe.
"Vaporeon use water gun!"
vaporeon hit Charmeleon hard, but he was still standing.
"Charmeleon!Flamethrower now!"
"Vaporeon, dodge it and use bubblebeam!"
Vaporeon had defeated Charmeleon with a bubblebeam.
"Hmm...pretty good. Go Pidgeotto!"
Pidgeotto was released from the Pokeball.
"Ok, Pidgeotto use wing attack!"
Pidgeotto used wing attack on Vaporeon.
"Vaporeon use water gun!"
"Pidgeotto use whirwind!"
A whirlpool was created out of the water gun and the whirlwind.
it was headed towards Pidgeotto!
"Pidgeotto push it back with gust!" said Gabe.
"Vaporeon! fight back with Water gun!" said the trainer.
Pidgeotto seemed to be winning.
"Pidgeotto give it your all!!!!" yelled Gabe.
"You too Vaporeon!" said the trainer.
Pidgeotto had used a very powerful gust, and the whirpool hit Vaporeon leaving it unconcious.
"Yes! we did it Pidgeotto!" said Gabe.
"You've got skill...." said the trainer as he headed towards the Pokemon center.

"There are rare pokemon called abra here." She pointed to one sleeping on a tree branch."They sleep for 16 hours a day. Now is your chance."

"Hmmm....I don't think I want an Abra" said Gabe.
"lets just carry on"

"Well its either abra or bellsprout. Those are the best choices." she kept walking.

[Gay]

"I wanna pick Pokemon that I like and that are strong...." said Gabe.
"Sorry if I dissapointed you..."
