Dale stood outside oaks lab waiting for Zayne, hoping he would get the chance to battle, he was sad he couldn't use his charmander, but squirtle would be a water pokemon and fire was weak to water, he had no choice but to use rattata. He pulled the pokeball out of his pocket and threw it to the ground and out came the rat pokemon.
Dale:Rattata, we need to do some training, your going to be in a battle soon and i want you to be strong.
Rattata: Ratta, ratta rattata.(Errm, ok. This should be fun. Let go win!)

Dale:Alright Rattata, jump as high as you can.
The pokemon lept into the air.
Rattata:Rat(ok)
Dale:Good, now i want you to jump and try an bite this ball i'm gonna throw.
Dale produced a small yellow ball from his pocket and threw it, Rattata ran where the ball was going and lepted in to the and grabbed it in his teethe and when he brought the ball back to Dale, it was punchtered and had teeth marks in.
Dale: Good, this is good exersise and will help you judge distance better.

after throwing and reviceing the ball many times, Dale thought Rattata and himself had had enough.
Dale: Ok Rattata, thats enough, have a short rest the i have another training exersise for you.
Rattata: Rat, ratta, rattata, rat.(Oh, thank goodness. I'm pooped out.)
The panting rat lay down on a bench next to his trainer and nuzzled into his lap and fell asleap.

After a while of sitting there, Dale finaly woke up Rattata
Dale:Rattata, wake up, it's time for the next training exersie.
The rat woke up and mubbled something in reply as it followed Dale, who got out a pokeball and threw it to the ground.
Dale:Burny, I want you and rattata to have a small battle, it will be good exersise for both of you.

Dale:Alright battle.
Burny stood still as the rat ran up to her ready to sink his teeth into her and then used an ember attack and the flames hit the rat dead in the face who was knocked back but stayed on his feet and ran up to Burny and bit a leg only to get scrached in the stomach and knocked of the fire pokemon. Burny limped away from the rat who did not move and stared at her. Burny getting unnerved by the stare looked away and the find out it was a leer attack and she was supost to look away but now it was too late and was tackled and knocked over by the rat, but scrached it as it tried to skink it's teeth into her again. Dale watched as the rat tried to get up, but fell down, unable to fight.
Dale:Alright guys, thats enough, your both hurt, i'll take you to professor oaks lab to get you healed.

A while later Dale was walking out of oaks lab with his pokemon both in thier pokeballs and fully healed. He attached them both to his belt and walked to the edge of town and saw the path that wild pokemon inhabeted, It looked like Zayne wasn't here, so it seemed he had ages and he posibly might never show so he left pallet town and walked into the path.

"Hey Dal-"
He sighed when he saw nothing outside, but he was excited since he got his squirtle.

He released his friend, and a red light signaled his friend was coming. The red light faded and the pokeball closed. There stood his new partner in his trainer life, his brand new Squirtle.
"Squirtle!"

A reply of happy sounds came from Squirtle, and Zayne smiled. Squirtle blushed and closed his eyes. Zayne fell on his knees and hugged Squirtle.
"It's finnaly coming true isn't it!? My dream..."
Crying now he tried to stop but couldn't. He wiped his eyes, and began to be glad Dale had left. He didn't want have an "Epidose" in front of him.

"So will you please come along, and help me with my trainer dream?"
He starred at squirtle, and saw he was also crying. Zayne wiped squirtle's eyes'. Squirtle replied by jumping on Zayne's shoulder.

Zayne slowly rose, and they started walking on there way to the next town.
"Who knows, we might be the best!"
