Luana is the Gym Leader of the Kumquat Island Gym. She hands out the Jade Star Badge to trainers who defeat her. She specializes in Double Battles. Luana owns a luxury hotel on Kumquat Island that also doubles as her Gym. Pokémon trainers often stay at the Kumquat Hotel to help prepare for battle. The actual Gym appears to be the largest in the Orange Islands, outside of Pummelo Stadium. Luana Team Marowak lv 53 Alakazam lv 54

From Luana's View
"Luana, I challenge you!" Luana turned around, her blazing red hair covered one of her eyes. Pushing the large streak of hair back, Luana looked at the boy. He was about her age, with a slightly cocky look and a charming smile. His streaked hair was long, and was about neck level. It was cut to look punkish, and Luana could see streaks of blonde covering extremely dark brown hair. He was handsome in a odd sort of way, and was extremely fashionable.
He wore a tight polo-shirt, with a striped vest covering it, only seeing the sleeves and the collar. He wore a simple pair of Abercrombie jeans, and wore cash skate shoes. A chain hanging from his studded belt, and a studded bracelet to match with it, this boy looked like he was up for a match. Luana felt less extravagant than usual, and was slightly intimidated, but did not show any sign. She was supposed to be the toughest, besides Drake.
"Very well," Luana said after slight consideration, "Let us begin. A Double-battle." Reaching for her two glam Pokeballs, Launa spun then on the tips of her fingers while standing on one edge of the gym terrain. The other teen took his place on the other side, drawing two simple black Pokeballs from his side pouch. Luana finally stopped the spinning and gracefully flung her two Pokeballs into the middle of the arena. "Go, Marowak! Go Alakazam!" Out of the two balls appeared a Marawok and an Alakazam. Her Marawok, was a male who was loose and relaxed, but deadly with his pin-point accuracy throwing the bone. Her girl Alakazam, had a fierce and aggressive nature, and was no one to cross. The boy looked a little confused. Probably never seen someone else nickname their Pokemon, thought the girl, smiling towards Aaron friendlily. Aaron looked slightly warmer to her, and smiled charmingly. It seemed he thought that nicknaming a Pokemon was a sign of affection. Indeed it was.
"Go, Celeste, go, Blazer!" Aaron hurled his balls into the center of the area, the balls skipping slightly before releasing his two Pokemon in a beam of light. Luana smiled yet again, as she noted that Aaron's Pokemon were in excellent condition. This was the kind of trainer she didn't mind losing to.
"Marowak, use Bonemerang!" Marawok threw his bone directly at his opponent, [Charizard], hitting him on his temple. Aaron's Charizard, Blazer, wobbled around, stars surrounding his head. Aaron's Eevee, Celeste, looked at Alakazam determinedly and lashed out at the foe, using a strong and canine bite. Latching onto Alakazam, Aaron's female Eevee drained energy from Luana's prized companion...
From Aaron's View:
Aaron was surprised at Luana's Marawok's speed. Indeed he was impressed. Blazer was slightly fazed, and needed to snap out of his confusion. Celeste was hanging in there, using a super effective move against Luana's Alakazam. Alakazam was also hanging in there, aggresively pounding herself against the floor, trying to rid herself of Celeste. Aaron was proud of his 'little girl.'
"Come on, Blazer," Aaron said encouragingly, "You can do it! Do it for the team!" Blazer cleared his senses and shot a flame of anger at Marawok, hitting him, and taking a good amount of damage. Marowak was fazed, but jumped right back up, his bone on fire. He hurled it at Celeste, who then jumped off to avoid the hit. Alakazam looked weak, and Marowak was slightly drained. Blazer was in decent shape, and Celeste was hanging in like a blaze of glory.
"Alakazam!" Luana called from a distance, "Use Psychic!" Alakazam focused and lifted Celeste, hurling Aaron's precious little Pokemon against the wall, causing Celeste to take severe damage. "Hang in there!" Aaron called, staring coldly at Alakazam. "Blazer, use a Fire Spin and a Flamethrower at the same time!" Blazer nodded, but he would need time to charge. "Celeste," Aaron called, "Defend Blazer!" Celeste, still week, complied, but looked exhausted.
Celeste taking hits, was on the verge of fainting. Blazer roared and motioned that he was charged. Alakazam and Marowak were in for a surprise. Jumping out of the way just in time, Celeste felt the heat of the infero attack, completely KOing Alakazam, and making Marowak into a dangerously weak state. Luana looked crushed.
Aaron smiled at Zamala, then to Luana. "Good hustle," he said, and Luana nodded, but then gave Marowak a hand signal. Marowak, weak as he was, was still an opponent, and used an Earthquake, shaking the ground. Celeste jumped onto Blazer's back, and the two flew up to safer ground. Aaron himself had to hold onto a pole to prevent himself from shaking too hard. Blazer then used a Flamethrower, finishing off Luana's brave but weak Marowak.
Luana's View:
Handing Aaron his respective badge, Luana smiled softly as Aaron smiled and shook her hand. Luana had learned much from him, just as he she hoped he had learned from her. Aaron looked at Luana in respect before saying thank you. He left the gym forever, but Luana would never forget him.
