[glow=red,2,300]Chapter 1[/glow]
Why am I known as the boy who is a liar? Why don’t you believe that IT happened? I know it may seem like it’s made up, but when I tell you the whole story you’ll see the truth.
A class was throwing paper and talking when Maria Wolff turned and glared madly at Jin and Larry. The bell then rang with a usual eerie beep. “Class calm down or you’ll all have to write pages”, the teacher said with fierceness in her voice. Jin looked up at the day’s agenda, and he was copying it in his daily planner.
Jin turned around to Larry, his best friend, and talked about their journey to the haunted house at the end of Jin’s street. The house had always had eerie sounds heard and no one came out of the house after they came in. It was also a dare from Maria, a classmate, gave them.
“So let’s meet at twelve o’clock at the blinking street light”, Larry said with enthusiasm. “Students lets start the beginning of the music on measure three”, the teacher said resuming her speech. Everyone was already singing the song given, when a screech was heard on the black board in the back of the room. Everyone instantly turned around seeing words being written.
The board clearly said “GET OUT OR SOMETHING WILL HAPPEN.” Some people started to scream or shriek; many people started running out of the room when the meter stick started spinning around in a circle. Jin got under a desk so that whom ever it was didn’t see him; he then closely investigated the happenings. “I have to think of a way to see him, wait I have an idea.”
Jin got out a bottle of water and spilled it on the floor around the spinning meter stick, and then he saw wet footsteps running out of the room. Jin got closer and inspected the wet marks and a journal, and he wrote some stuff in his blue and black notebook. This notebook has several mysteries written down on different pages. “I’ve got to tell Larry of my findings,” he said bounding for the door.
Jin found Larry and Maria waiting for Jin outside. They had found out that everyone in the class was reported to evacuate the building. “Where were,” said Larry interrupted by Jin handing him the notebook, “you?” “And this is?” Larry asked with confusion. “Who cares, you two better do the dare or else”, she said smirking. “That ghost was so stupid”, she continued, “ Well I’m going to leave this place it gives me the creeps.” Jin smiled at how he was brave enough to find information about the ghost. “It’s my finding of the scene of the ghoul,” he said simply. “Weren’t you scared to”, Larry said looking a little scared. “Nah I pity the poor ghoul if he messed with me”, he said smiling.
Maria turned to them and frowned at them, and she then walked off. Jin walked down the street some more talking about the ghost. “So instead of going to the haunted house we’ll investigate the School Ghoul?” he asked. “Right”, he said pushing his thick glasses up on his face. “But first we need supplies”, Larry said.
Jin and Larry then walked to where their streets separated. “Let’s meet here after we go home and get supplies. A little while later Jin went to a drawer and started getting a flashlight, some magnifying glasses, a notebook, and a camera. Jin opened the journal and he read out loud, “On Aug. 19 my dear friend had died of a mysterious fire. The school is covering it up, but I will investigate.” The page had teardrops on it. Jin started to wonder about this journal and the ghost so he immediately turned to the last page. He read out loud, “I brought my dairy with me incase, I see there is something wrong with the furnace it’s making weird noises and I’m walking down here. I now see –the page was burnt was several spots- won’t let no one get hurt from thi” The rest of the page was burnt and ripped off. Jin saw Larry down the street when he walked outside. He ran to catch up Larry. “What up Jin?” Larry asked. “So did you get the needed supplies”, Jin asked looking at his checklist. Larry named off his supplies while Jin checked them off the list.
Later that night Jin and Larry sneaked onto the school campus and they looked up as a cloud came into view. It started to rain and thunder. They went in the choir room and they saw some water frozen on the floor. “But it was water when I threw it”, Jin said puzzled. He looked at it through the magnifying glass. “Amazing”, Larry said.
The water started spinning and it melted the instant it started to spin. ”What is going on”, Larry said. The icy water almost hit Jin, but he ducked. The air started to get warmer and moister. “Go there is dang”, the words from the ghost stopped. “What does that mean?” Larry asked. Jin started to wonder. What is going on, and what is the meaning of the ghost? I think the ghost and the journal are connected wait I know!
Jin looked up at the spot that the voice started from, but instead Jin smelled something odd. “What’s that smell?” Jin asked. Larry pointed at the stairs leading to the boiler room. Jin tried to investigate, but he seemed to be held by an invisible hand. It raised Jin up slowly. “Jin!” Larry yelled. He ran to Jin. Jin soon said, ”go to the boiler room” Larry soon ran into the small room; the area around the furnace was on fire and the furnace seemed to have a steaming sound. Larry came out running. The ghost finished the sentence “danger”.
Larry said soon after “The basement is on fire call 911” Jin looked at the ghost “Was he the friend of the kid who had got killed in the fire many years ago?” he asked. The ghost replied hoarsely “yes”. Jin then remembered about the resuming fire; he and Larry soon escaped the building in time. Then he called 911.
Later on the police asked how they knew of the fire. “The ghost in the music room, was once the friend of the kid who died from the fire”, Jin tried to explain. The police men laughed and said “Seriously though what happened?” Jin and Larry just looked at each other and said, “Let us explain the whole story.”
