Here you can receive your first Pokemon from the renounced Professor Birch. You may receive one of the three Hoenn starters before starting on your journey.
You may receive Treeko, who is Grass-type, and generally an easy-going Pokemon to train. It's evolution is Grovyle at 16, and then his final evolution is Sceptile at 36.
Another choice is Mudkip, the Water-type. He is cute and cuddly, but can also be a little temperamental. It's evolution is Marshtomp at 16, who then turns into a Water/Ground type. After that, Marshtomp evolves into Swampert at 36, yet another Water/Ground type.
The final choice is Torchic, who is a Fire-type, a rebellious and fiery Pokemon to have, and a good battle partner. It's evolution Combusken, who is a Fire/Fighting-type, becomes a Combusken at level 16. Blaziken, another Fire/Fighting, evolves from Combusken at the level of 36.
