Time: 3 years after Naruto: Shipuuden
Pein has died and Itachi Uchiha has become leader of the Akatsuki. Orochimaru, as it turns out was not killed by Sasuke Uchiha, and is getting stronger. Sasuke has come back to Konoha, with Tsunade still Hokage. Naruto is a Sannin/Hokage now, almost stronger than Jiraiya himself. The Akatsuki are gaining new Members, although have remained in hiding. Sai has become head of ANBU Root, Tenzou(Yamato) has become head of ANBU. Neji Hyuuga has become leader of the Cadet Branch, and Asuma Sarutobi has become head of the 12 elite guardians.
Itachi Uchiha, the leader of the Akatsuki is making his organization bigger. Not only does he have the original ten, but now he has numerous a-ranked missing-nin filling in lower ranks. The Akatsuki have allied themselves with Hoshigakure, although only the Hoshikage knows of this. A new organization has revealed itself, The Patriots, codenamed ANBU Black. The Akatsuki are sending in the a-ranked nin to attack villages at random times while the ten can look for the Bijuu. Orochimaru has taken over the Sound Village full time, but is still performing experiments since his best subject, Sasuke Uchiha escaped. Sasuke, and Sakura are both jounin, and people begin to view them as the next sannin.
Naruto is the current Hokage, going under the title of Yondaime in honor of fulfilling his father, Minato's legacy. He has taken the Chuunin, Shu Uchiha, Jinchuuriki of the 10 tailed Humanoid demon, under his wing as a comrade and student.
