Hiro walked the route up to the Pokémon League with his Umbreon out of it's pokéball. Umbreon looked like it was ready for the pokémon league and battle other trainers. So was Hiro

After registering at the Indigo Plateau, Hiro went out at the route leading baxk to Viridian, but... He didn't had any pokémon who knew fly and he didn't exactly want to go through the victory road again...
That's when Jessica appeared
"Jessica, I need your Pidgeot to fly me back to Viridian City!"
"Hey, hey hey! I haven't seen you in many days and the first thing you want is to get away from me??" she said "So you got through the Victory road too? To think of we both got eight badges and are going to enter in the pokémon league..."
"Cannot you just borrow me you Pidgeot to fly me down to Viridian?"
"Not so fast, I want a battle!"
"A battle?"
"You heard right, a battle! We haven't battled eachother since we first met at the trainer bridge north of Cerulean City!"
"Look, I have no time for this..."
"You have the choice between battling me, if you do I will borrow you my FLYING Pidgeot, or you can walk through the Victory Road one more time..."
"....Let's do this quick..." Hiro said

"Alright! I'm choosing the rules! We are going to have a 6 vs 6 battle! And I choose you, Togetic!"
"Hm. So it evolved? Let's go, Scyther! Scyther, use X-scissors!"
It fainted.
"Hiro, you have improved alot! Well, try this, Pidgeot!"
"No problem. Scyther, use X-scissors!"
"Dodge it and use wing attack!"
"Scyther use slash!" Pidgeot hit Scyther, and the super effective move fainted Scyther.

"Go, Umbreon! Umbreon, use sand attack, and then faint attack!"
Pidgeot was hit "Pidgeot, use steel wing!
"Dodge and use dark pulse!"
"Pidgeot!" Jessica yelled, and Pidgeot fainted "oh... return. Now, Rapidash!"
"Umbreon, quick, return! Go Arcanine!"
"Rapidash, use tackle!"
"Arcanine, use extremespeed to dodge it and then strike it!"
"Rapidash, hang in there! Great, use flamethrower!"
"Use flamethrower too Arcanine!"
The two flamethrowers hit eachother and fainted both their pokémon.
"Umbreon, let's go!"
"I have been waiting for this..." Jessica said
"Waiting for what?" Hiro asked
"To battle your Eevee evolution with mine and overcome type adventages... Go Espeon!"
"Umbreon, use dark pulse!"
"Dodge it Espeon, and use quick attack!"
Espeon slammed into Umbreon.
"Umbreon, use dark pulse again!"
It hit Espeon and it barely hang on
"Espeon, use swift!"
The stars hit Umbreon and it flew backwards
"Umbreon, finnish it with dark pulse!"
Espeon fainted

"Come on! Nidoqueen!" Jessica yelled "Remember the last time you battled this beauty?"
"Hm. Umbreon, use dark pulse!"
"Nidoqueen! Use double kick!"
Umbreon fainted
"Well, you should probably remember the last time you battled this one too... Nidoking, go!"
"Heh, I do. But now me and my Nidoqueen are many times stronger than the last time! Nidoqueen, use crunch!"
"Nidoking, use earthpower!"
"Nidoqueen! Jump and hit it with your crunch attack!"
Nidoqueen got a critical hit and fainted Nidoking.

"You see? I'm stronger than you!"
"The battle is far from over... Go Blastoise!"
"Nidoqueen, return! Go Feraligatr!"
"So that's your starter pokémon?"
"Yeah, I told you I was from Johto. Riiight?"
"Maybe..."
"Don't you remember? oh and that's gotta be your starter? So your Wartortle evolved?"
"Hm." smiled Hiro "Blastoise, use skull bash!"
Blastoise struck Feraligatr so it fell to the ground.

"Feraligatr! Get up and use crunch!"
"Blastoise! Stop it with hydro pump!"
It was stopped.
"Now Blastoise, use rapid spin!"
Feraligatr started spinning.
"Blastoise, finnish it with your hydro pump!"
Feraligatr fainted.

"Well... Come out again, Nidoqueen!"
"Blastoise, use hydro pump!" Hiro said
"Jump and use double kick and then bite!"
Blastoise took some large damage.
"Blastoise, use hydro pump again!"
"Dodge this one too and finnish it with superpower!"
Blastoise fainted...

"Well, it looks like we only got one pokémon each now..." Hiro said
"Hey! the last time I saw you, you only got five pokémon! You got one more now?"
"Yeah..." Hiro thought that the battle against Jessica was lost. Jessica still had one of her strongest pokémon, while Hiro prabably had his weakest. And when you added the fact that Jessica had the type adventage, he was almost sure to lose.
"Well, go Charmeleon!"
"Woah! When did you got that one?"
"From some other guy... but whatever"
"Ok, Nidoqueen, use earthquake!"
Hiro was just going to let Charmeleon get hit and lose the battle, but Charmeleon avoided the attack itself by jumping!
Hiro looked both happy and confused and said "Charmeleon, use metal claw!"
Charmeleon hit Nidoqueen hard and knocked it over.
"Charmeleon, use metal claw again!" Charmeleon did and Nidoqueen got even more hurt.
"Now finnish it with flamethrower!"
Nidoqueen fainted

Charmeleon started glowing... It evolved into a Charizard!

After the battle Jessica talked to Hiro: "Wow you got a Charizard!" she said "Well... I guess you don't need my Pidgeot to fly you back home now since you got Charizard?"
"Right... Well, I'll see ya when the championships starts!"
"Don't worry, you will!"
Hiro jumped on his Charizard and flew back to his house in Viridian City

Richie walked around going through all the gates and and showed his badges and was now entering indigo plateu
