A young female trainer named Karrmy walked into the Pokemon Lab and said to Professor Oak: "Hello, I am Karrmy. You must be Professor Oak. I've heard many great things about you. And here is Tracy! Hello!" Tracy waved and Karrmy picked up a Pokeball with a leaf on it and asked the Professor: "Who is this Pokemon, sir?" Oak looked up and smiled warmly. He said: "That one is Bulbasaur. He is level five and he knows Tackle and Growl. Would you like him?" Karrmy shook her head no and placed the Pokeball down on the table again. Karrmy picked up a Pokeball with a blue spiral on it. Oak said: "That is Squirtle. She is level five and she knows Tackle and Tail Whip. Do you want to have her?" Karrmy shook her head no and picked up a Pokeball with a red flame on it. She guessed: "Is this Charmander?" Oak nodded and said: "Charmander has a mighty HOT temper. He is also level five and he knows Scratch and Tail Whip." Karrmy laughed at Oak's feeble attempt at a joke and stroked Charmander's Pokeball wistfully. Oak noticed this and said: "If you want him, you can keep him. Here is a Pokedex, and three pokeballs, OK?" Karrmy nodded excitedly and left the Lab thanking Oak over her shoulder.

Kokoro walked into the lab, her parasol resting on her shoulder. She looked around, looking for Professor Oak. She suddenly heard a loud sneeze and from behind a bookshelf she saw Oak emerge, holding a box of dusty old manuls and textbooks.
Kokoro walked over to Oak, the sounds of her boots hitting the ground echoed with each step. "Um, hello? Are you Professor Oak?" she asked hopefully. Oak looked at Kokoro, and then smiled warmly. "Why yes, I am. Are you here to receive a pokemon?" he asked, his tone friendly. Kokoro nodded. "Yup!" she aid cheerily. Oak set down the box he had been holding. "Then follow me." he instructed and walked towards a table with many circilar indents, each holding a ball.
"There are three Pokemon you can choose from. First there is Bulbasaur, a grass type. Bulbasaur are in the balls with leaves on them. Second is Squirtle, the water type. They are in the pokeballs with water droplets on them. Finally, there is Charmander, the fire type. The Pokeballs that contain Charmander have a flame." he explained.
Kokoro was silent, thinking. After a few minutes passed, she carefully picked up a pokeball with a water droplet. "So you've picked Squirtle, then?" he asked. Kokoro nodded. "Yup, I've chosen Squirtle." she said and smiled. She turned to Oak. "Thank you so much!" she said gratefully. Oak smiled. "You're very welcome! Have fun and be safe on your long Journey!" he called to Kokoro as she headed towards the door. Before leaving, she glanced back one last time and said, "I will." Before closing the door.
